Thank you, from Cortina ....

Well, where am I to begin?!

I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all of the "Happy Birthday" wishes that I received in January...Yes, for those of you who didn't know of it, my birthday was January 27th....and it was a riot!!!

Besides the Twitter-ers .... there were many other people surprising me and expressing their thoughts with me on that very special day.

I am thrilled and speechless by your caring words. Emails, WhatsAPP and of course, the old fashioned text messages and handwritten letters, made me teary eyed.

I was far away with my loved ones, in Cortina D'Ampezzo, the gorgeous legendary little town which is in the middle of the bitterly cold, fleecy-white mountains.

I must admit that once a year it is a dream to feel the frosty coldness upon my face, since we live in the humid and scorching Hong Kong.

On that day, we went to a quaint "baita", and I ate one of my most favourite meals in the entire world ..... the most delicious Casunziei, which are a sort of Ravioli with puréed beets centered within AND another Ravioli with Caprino cheese whipped inside .....OMG, you have no idea. The poppy seeds sprinkled all over are deliciously crunchy making everything mouth-watering ...

Having the time of my life we were almost snowed in!!

You must know that during the Christmas holidays our relatives were literally prisoners in their own home with Cortina and many other little mountain towns living a BLACK OUT. Yes, no electricity for 3 days in the middle of a harsh winter.

.......we never think about it since we are so spoiled in life, but living without light and heat in a wintery place or anywhere at this point, is uncomfortable and rather scary.

Wonderful post, so kind and touchy. Thank you Heather. The best thing is to be with your whole family, this connection can bring you more warmth, compared with the house full of luxury and nobody. Can heat you more than electricity. You children are gorgeous, your daughter beautiful as a film star:) Stay cool!

Cortina, mai stata, fa piacere che l'Italia fa ancora parte dei tuoi pensieri ogni tanto. . .

Alfonso mi ha contagiato col suo entusiasmo, pur'io dedico a te , cara Heather, e a tutti "Happy" del bravissimo Pharrell Williams! . . tutto la'lbum G I R L e' molto carino. . .ottima voce, grande ritmo, a tratti mi rimanda al grande Michael Jackson. .

Carissima Heather,
Ho visto Cortina solo in TV ma devo dire che hai scelto un posto bellissimo dove festeggiare il tuo compleanno!! Tra l'altro sono rimasta impressionata dalla neve che ricopriva Cortina in quei giorni!! Ottima scelta anche a tavola!! Se nella vita ci andrò voglio provare questa specialità!! Come te ho scelto di trascorrere il mio compleanno (2 Gennaio) al freddo delle Alpi Slovene...Kranjsca Gora, posto molto carino...persone gentilissime ed educate.
Visto che oggi è la festa della Donna vorrei farti gli Auguri e mille complimenti per la donna meravigliosa, sensibile e profonda che SEI!!!
