La dolce vita of a Tai Tai ....

Tai Tai for some people, means "Chinese woman having lunch" and for others, "The supreme of the supreme"...

For everyone, tei tei (the correct pronunciation), is the young Chinese woman with a sophisticated beauty, who is the second wife of a wealthy Chinese Tycoon. She lives in an awe-inspiring comfort, putting shopping and spa treatments first on her daily list.

Every time I talk to a Western woman, murmurs of sarcasm stream about, which, take note, are with disgust and a slight hint of envy.

What harm is she causing?! Well, she is an "on the loose" woman, with no obligations or chores racing thru her mind ... No worries whatsoever, besides raiding Chanel and the nearest live-massaging robot!! ...

The Tai Tai life is in the simply sweet, "I do nothing" category ...

Her entire day is hooked on two morbid thoughts: Beauty and Shopping ... She is visceral towards both ...

What woman, at least once in her life, wouldn't like to gift herself to a Tai Tai Day?! ...

Being a Tai Tai, is a privilege and prerogative, for only a few ...

You must have an unspeakable limit of time and a vast wealth, beyond words, to spend uncontrolled purchases ... In life, normally, these two conditions do not go hand in hand ...

The Tai Tai has everything that is hot in terms of fashion, status and of course, social life.

The Tai Tai's food nutrition is entrusted by the experience and brilliance of Oriental cooks and their impeccabe skills as they unite food that assures the proper contribution (fibers, vitamins, minerals) that preserve their velvety palid complexions. Sesame Powder mixed in with their daily tea or congee is a fundamental "must" ...

Surrounded by a tremendous amount of staff and "helpers", the Tai Tai avoids even the smallest of efforts. The Filippine maids even have the chore to carry around her purse, rigorously a Hermés Crocodile Birkin or Kelly, and rigorously with matching lipstick. It is not unusual seeing these Tai Tai's, in the waiting room of their gynaecologist, with a line of Filippine maids holding their glorious bags, while sitting right next to them! In the meantime, the Tai Tai is fixated on her cell, writing sms' and emails ...

The Tai Tai is a picky one, who selects her friends and acquaintances with extreme cure. She conducts a social life shaped for important World Events and, of course, anything with the word, Philanthropy and Charity. She has been well-educated and is on a high level conversation-wise, as in culturally, where she is capable of holding a conversation with a businessman or gossiping with the other Tai Tai's ...

Shopping is exclusively with Logo's, you know, High Brands. Even if she has money coming out of their ears, she is the first to negotiate prices, with exhausting stipulations, regarding the price. She always waits for the exact day with the word, SALE. In Hong Kong there is a rumour that if "shopping" were to be an Olympic Sport, the HK Tai Tai would win for sure ...

Naturalmente non è facile comprendere ed eventualmente condividere filosofie di vita che non ci appartengono. E, senza giudicare niente e nessuno, io sostengo la tesi secondo la quale nel mondo il 50% di creature muore di fame e il restante 50% di indigestione. La via di mezzo sembra non esistere. Come si fa a vivere ogni giorno della propria esistenza pensando solo a cose frivole???

Ma e' una vita noiosissima! Nulla da investire di te stessa, nulla da combattere, nessun rischio, la servitu' poi trovo sia un modus vivendi di vecchio stampo, roba di due secoli fa, che noia.

Non lo dico per invidia eh? non sono queste le cose che mi fanno accendere la lucetta perversa dell'invidia ( quella non cattiva pero' .. ) , anzi, mi suscita un sentimento di compassione, perche' penso che la poverta' non sia solo una questione di mancanza di denaro . . .

Comunque grazie Heather, non conoscevo questa tipologia di donna orientale, sempre bello leggerti!

Cara Heather

Grazie per averci fatto conoscere questo strano mondo ….

Ma la vita (come dice Fiore) è fatta per lottare, per essere protagonisti dei propri progetti, sì anche per fare fatica per raggiungere i nostri obiettivi, per lavorare (si dice sempre che il lavoro nobilita l’uomo e sono convinto che sia una santa verità). Finire una giornata e poter chiedersi quanto ho dato per un mondo migliore, quanto ho aiutato il prossimo? Addormentarsi e chiedere che il giorno seguente sia bello, nuovo ma anche ricco di provocazioni sempre dentro il seppur faticoso lavoro diuturno.

Può starci per un giorno fare la vita di Tai Tai ma poi davvero che noia.

Tu stessa Heather sono certo che dopo tre giorni impazziresti. Basta pensare a tutto ciò che hai fatto per noi. Se avessi fatto la vita di Tai Tai come potrei io ri-guardare all'infinito i tuoi balletti e sentire la tua musica mentre vado a tenere un convegno o un corso di formazione. Sicuramente la mia vita sarebbe più triste.

E poi per esperienza personale non ho mai (dico MAI) incontrato una persona ricca e felice. E’ molto più facile che capiti l’inverso.

Ciao Heather,incantata da cio' ke hai scritto sembrerebbe una vita da sogno ma sinceramente mi annoierei !!
Affascinante il ruolo della Tai Tai ma sinceramente preferisco la mia vita sempre in movimento ..........quando non posso comprare attendo ma nella vita si e' felici anche senza dover x forza avere tutto ............. In primis l'amore x la famiglia e amare la vita anche se delle volte ci porta ad un bivio ma basta risollevarsi e sopratutto con l'aiuto di chi si ha accanto ci si puo' stare bene anche non facendo shopping tutti i gg. ke noia ............un'abbraccio dalla Sardegna Dany 71 Ca
